Basel Sinfonietta
Since 1980 the Basel Sinfonietta has been presenting contemporary music, performing both well-known and less familiar works with unusual and experimental sounds.

In addition to traditional symphony concerts, the Sinfonietta orchestra also performs cross-genre productions with jazz, dance and performance, various silent movies and multimedia projects. The Basel Sinfonietta is also proud of its success in working with young musicians. It promotes and encourages young Swiss musical talent, either welcoming them into the orchestra or working together with them as composers. Furthermore, the Sinfonietta also plays at some of the most important music festivals, such as the Lucerne Festival or the Salzburger Festspiele.
