The Sinfonieorchester Basel (Basel Symphony Orchestra) is one of the most famous orchestras in Switzerland. It is made up of more than 100 highly qualified, highly motivated musicians.
Founded in 1997-98, the orchestra is now as much of a Basel institution as FCB or the Basler Fasnacht. The orchestra's repertoire ranges from Viennese classical music to contemporary compositions. The orchestra also makes regular forays to other cities in Switzerland and abroad, where the performers' exceptional artistic talent is always in demand.Â
